THE STORY OF FYREN
Where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean lies the Cape of Good Hope. Where Finland’s only fjord Pojoviken Bay meets Stadsfjärden and the Gulf of Finland lies Ekenäs, its north harbour, and Fyren.
Getting around the Cape of Good Hope was an accomplishment for past seafarers and marked a change in course. Fyren was also born of hope, good spirits, and togetherness.
Local talents, such as investor Tom Nylund, architect Lasse Heikkinen, designer Janina Skult, restauranteur Hasse Lundström, and diverse craftspeople have joined forces to achieve something rarely seen and unique: an equal to the legendary Knipan. Fyren is the new landmark in Ekenäs.
